The Net Zero Energy Project was launched in June 2021 with the aim of supporting Islay, Jura and Colonsay in reducing their carbon emissions by way of bettering energy efficiency and renewable fuel sources. Questionnaires were sent to the communities of the three islands to gain insight into the current energy use, energy efficiency of their homes and thoughts and opinions on improving these areas. The project is a starting point for the Island's long journey towards become Net Zero by 2045, under the
Scottish Governments' legislation.
A full report on findings and next steps will be available late Summer 2022.
